Reddam House Durbanville has reinforced its reputation as an educational center through outstanding results in the Cambridge International examinations, including a historical record and a total of 210 subject distinctions.
The school's Grade 11 students in the Western Cape demonstrated brilliant performance in the IGCSE exams in June 2026. They achieved an overall average score of 79% across 369 individual results in 17 subjects. More than half of the class, specifically 51% of candidates, received an aggregate grade of A or A*, and 25% of all individual results exceeded 90%. Nine subjects showed an average score above 80%.
Nil Maydlin led the IGCSE cohort, achieving an impressive aggregate score of 95%, including 98% in Mathematics and Chemistry. He was followed by Michael Hamdulai (aggregate score 94%) and Ethan Lou (aggregate score 93%), as well as Jejun Kim, Alexander Smith, and Jessica Kellerman with impressive scores of 92%.
However, the most attention was drawn to recent graduate Yukium Kim, who set a new record for the highest aggregate A Level score in the school's history. Achieving a combined result of 97%, Kim completed A Level Physics (97%) and Advanced Mathematics (96%) in just six months—half the standard time. Previously, Kim scored 98% in A Level Mathematics and received the 'Best in South Africa' award from Cambridge, which secured him a final offer of admission to the Faculty of Mathematics at Cambridge University in the UK.
Another accelerated A Level student, Nicholas Yanser, also achieved significant success, completing his studies in six months and scoring 91% in Accounting, 80% in Mathematics, and 77% in Biology. Yanser is now heading to the Netherlands to pursue a dual degree in Economics and Econometrics at Erasmus University Rotterdam.
