The second stage of the ShakthiSAT mission began on August 23, 2026, at Gautam Buddha University in Greater Noida. This event was organized on the occasion of National Space Day and attracted about 200 female students and delegates, as well as ambassadors from over 108 countries.
The main goal of this initiative is to provide young women with practical knowledge in space science and satellite technology. Instead of studying material solely from textbooks, students will have the opportunity to get an in-depth look at space technologies and space science, enabling them to subsequently study and work in this field.
Organizers emphasize that one of the most important directions of the mission is increasing the participation of girls in science and technology fields. Representatives of the Uttar Pradesh state government were present at the event, including Minister of Industrial Development Nanda Gopal Gupta, as well as India's first astronaut, Vice Admiral Rakesh Sharma, Vice Chancellor of Gautam Buddha University Rana Pratap Singh, and IN-SPACe Director Dr. Vinod Kumar. Minister Yogi Adityanath sent a greeting message to the organizers and students.
Approximately 200 female students from over 108 countries participated in the second stage of ShakthiSAT. Performances showcasing Indian culture were organized for delegates and ambassadors from foreign countries. Genres presented included Bharatnatyam, Kathak, the Harianavi harvest dance, and the pot dance from Rajasthan. These performances allowed international guests to witness the cultural richness of India, which they greatly appreciated.
The main focus of the second stage of ShakthiSAT is to connect girls from around the world with space science and technology. Through the program, students gain a practical understanding of satellite technologies and space science. Organizers assert that through this initiative, involving more than one hundred countries, ShakthiSAT's second stage is advancing as a global initiative in space education, giving girls a chance to understand space technologies and work in this field.
