Durban will celebrate golden eras from the 1920s to the 1980s with the Vintage, Vogue & Velocity event. This event will take place at Camp Orchards in Hillcrest on Sunday, August 30th, and is intended to showcase the city's love for classic transport, fashion, and music.
The event, organized by VVV in collaboration with MUA and hosted at Camp Orchards, will feature an exhibition of vintage and classic cars and motorcycles, as well as fashion collections inspired by various decades.
Music will be an integral part of the five-hour event, featuring performances by the KZN Philharmonic Orchestra and Durban's jazz favorites, BeatRoute. Guests can journey through the decades, starting with the elegance of the 'Roaring Twenties' and pre-war thirties, moving to the styles of the forties, the influence of fifties rock and roll, sixties psychedelia, seventies chic, and the characteristic sounds of the eighties.
The 'Decades Runway' concept will unite vintage cars, motorcycles, and fashion, while visitors are encouraged to dress in the style of their favorite period. Prizes will be awarded for the best attire. Additionally, themed snacks and drinks will be available, and Camp Orchards will offer themed picnic baskets that can be booked in advance.
The event is scheduled from 10:00 to 15:00 at Camp Orchards on Inanda Road in Hillcrest. Tickets can be purchased through Quicket.
