The virtual operator Nomo, a subsidiary of Algar Telecom, has notified its customers about the termination of its operations starting this month. The company will cease functioning as an autonomous brand and will integrate its subscriber base into the parent company.
This change will affect consumers located in the states of São Paulo and Rio Grande do Sul. To ensure that lines remain active and prevent any service interruption, Nomo has already begun the transition process.
In an official statement, Nomo informed that its team will contact all subscribers to provide detailed guidance on the next steps. However, the operator also advises account holders to contact Customer Service to avoid signal cutoff or definitive number cancellation.
The attendants must explain how the migration works, detail the deadlines and operational conditions involved, as well as clarify how the continuity of previously contracted lines and services will be maintained. Customers who complete this procedure will become part of Algar Telecom's systems directly, a company with over 70 years of operation in the market, with a presence in both the corporate and regional retail sectors.
Nomo began in 2021. At the end of 2023, the mobile virtual network operator (MVNO) decided no longer to serve the end consumer, transferring its customers to competitor Fluke. Later, in early 2024, the service was relaunched under the management of Algar Telecom, which acquired the brand. This meant that the company did not have its own antenna or frequency infrastructure but used the physical structure of the new owner. The current change applies to customers from this period onward.
In the initial phase of entering the market, the company operated in inland municipalities of São Paulo, including Ribeirão Preto, São José do Rio Preto, Matão, São Carlos, and Cravinhos. During 2024, the company expanded its services to the Rio Grande do Sul cities of Porto Alegre, Caxias do Sul, and Passo Fundo, offering plans starting from R$ 33.90 per month.
