The renowned producer, DJ, and artist Tlou Cleopas Monyepao, known as DJ Cleo, has announced his departure from Radio 2000 after two successful years of work. He shared his experience and future plans in a heartfelt statement.
Tlou Cleopas Monyepao, who holds numerous music awards, held the position of host for the dance show 'The Eskhaleni Party,' which aired on Fridays from 10:00 PM to 12:00 AM. DJ Cleo informed listeners and fans via social media about his decision to leave the radio station to concentrate on music.
He noted that his career began on April 5, 2024, and he is very proud of the progress made. During his tenure, he presented a unique program that exceeded expected key performance indicators. Furthermore, he professionally covered absent colleagues and maintained impeccable discipline before management, never missing a shift.
DJ Cleo expressed immense gratitude to Mr. Tony Soglo and the management for selecting him as the ideal candidate to host this show, which he named 'The Eskhaleni Party with DJ Cleo.' He emphasized that the show's nomination for the Telkom Radio Awards just one year later demonstrated its significance.
The DJ explained that the decision to leave was not difficult, as he intends to dedicate more time to his musical career, family, studies, and his 'mental health and peace.' In the future, he plans to dedicate time to obtaining a degree, live performances, and developing artists, including his current protégés uMainfrend Womzulu and Pulinshki. He clarified that he is not moving to a competing station, and any future career moves will be considered slowly and thoughtfully.
The award-winning musician stated that he highly values the SABC and Radio 2000 brands, and they will continue to hold his respect. He concluded: 'I had an amazing 28 months working here, and I am not going to spoil it by saying anything else after this point or on any platform.'
