Researchers discovered that Natufians consumed lizards and snakes

Israeli scientists analyzed reptile remains found by archaeologists at the Natufian site of El-Wad. According to the study results, hunter-gatherers living during the Epipaleolithic era presumably regularly included lizards and snakes in their diet.

In particular, yellow-bellied lizards predominated among the discovered species. These findings were presented in a scientific publication published in the journal Proceedings of the National Academy of Sciences.
