The football club Pakhtakor may potentially face a review of its financing system. Information is circulating on social media that Jakhongir Artykhodzhaev, an entrepreneur and former mayor of Tashkent, has stopped providing financial assistance to the team.
Neither Pakhtakor nor Artykhodzhaev have officially confirmed this information at the moment. However, it became known on Saturday, August 22, that Dilshod Karimov left his position as vice-president of Pakhtakor. It was then that messages about the probable cessation of the team's financial support from Artykhodzhaev began appearing on social media.
According to available information, all previous debts of the club have been settled. Nevertheless, it is not yet known who will take over the provision of funding for the team and how its internal organizational structure will change.
In addition, Pakhtakor and Neftchi have received information about their opponents in the group stage of the AFC Champions League elite. Among the future rivals are the Saudi clubs Al-Nassr featuring Cristiano Ronaldo and Al-Hilal, as well as a team that is the current winner of other major Asian football tournaments.
