Calligraphers from around the world will participate in creating a unique Quran in Uzbekistan

A global calligraphy competition will take place in Tashkent on August 26th, with the goal of creating a unique handwritten Quran. This project will integrate artistic writing traditions from various countries and schools of the Islamic world.

The Project 'Quran of Peace: From Calligraphy Tradition to Future Heritage'

Habibullo Solikh, head of the calligraphy school at the Center for Islamic Civilization, will present the project titled 'Quran of Peace: From Calligraphy Tradition to Future Heritage.' Contestants will also view the exhibitions '114 Qurans: 114 Masterpieces of Islamic Calligraphy' and 'Kattalangar Quran: Truth and Legends.' Furthermore, potential applications of artificial intelligence for deciphering ancient manuscripts will be demonstrated.

It was previously announced that Samarkand has been awarded the title of World City of Crafts. This status was officially conferred after the presentation of the corresponding certificate by the president of the World Council of Crafts, Saad Hani al-Qaddumi.
