The fourth Sky Camp Bo'stonliq mountain marathon took place on August 22 and 23 at the Amirsoy mountain resort located in the Tashkent region. This is one of the major events in the trail running sphere of Central Asia.
The large-scale start was organized by the Foundation for the Development of Culture and Arts with the support of partners and attracted 2600 people. Participants came from 77 cities in Uzbekistan, as well as 20 other countries, including India, China, the USA, Ukraine, France, and the Philippines.
Athletes competed over various trail distances, which include routes through natural landscapes such as dirt roads, rocky sections, and mountain trails. Distances of 5, 10, and 20 km were presented. In addition, the program included the PEAK vertical race, the ZEN yoga and meditation run, children's races, and plogging—an activity related to garbage collection.
Muzaffar Bobomurodov, who ran the 5 km distance, shared his experience: he noted that he had previously only run on city asphalt, and this race was a serious test for him. He added that the support of those around him helped overcome fatigue on steep climbs, and he now plans to prepare for starts in the Aral Sea region.
In terms of gender composition, 65% of participants were men, and 35% were women. The oldest participant was Kosim Gilmonov, a resident of Samarkand, who was 79 years old.
Winners were recorded and new records were set across different distances:
- 20 km: Davron Ismilov won with a time of 2:14:38, beating the previous record of 2:22:17. Olga Kamentseva finished with a time of 2:45:31.
- 10 km: Alisher Saparov clocked 55:11, and Irodahon Olimova set a new record, finishing the race in 1:09:22 (the previous time was 1:18:11).
- 5 km: Shokhruh Abdinazar Ugli finished in 28:02, and Despina Bandaletova in 31:47.
- PEAK: Rauan Raimkulov completed the race in 34:37, and Valeria Korchashka in 44:16.
The Sky Camp route in Uzbekistan has received certification from the International Trail Running Association (ITRA). The trails for trail and PEAK are officially certified, and participants' results can be counted towards their personal qualification. Completing the 20 km distance allows accumulating points for participation in races held in the Alps and Pyrenees.
As part of the charitable Samarkand Marathon Series, established in 2019, events such as Zaamin Ultra, Bukhara Night Race, and Samarkand Marathon are also held. It is planned that the Aral Ultra project will be added in 2026. The next events in the series are scheduled for October 3–4 (Aral Ultra) and November 7–8 (Samarkand Marathon).
