MSM Unify, a global platform connecting students, recruitment partners, and universities across six continents, announced on Monday the appointment of Rishi Kapoor to the position of Chief Financial Officer (CFO).
This appointment comes in the context of advancing the company's plans regarding a potential Initial Public Offering (IPO) on Indian stock exchanges, which will be accompanied by an international listing scheduled for the 2028 fiscal year.
Responsibilities of the New CFO
In his new role, Kapoor will oversee the financial strategy, fundraising, investor relations, and financial operations across all of MSM Unify's global markets, including North America, Europe, the Middle East and North Africa (MENA), India, Africa, and Australia. He will also lead the company's preparation for the IPO in India and the execution of its broader dual-listing strategy on Indian and international markets.
Kapoor possesses over two decades of financial leadership experience in the education technology (edtech), information technology (IT), pharmaceuticals, and supply chain sectors.
Throughout his career, he has led the raising of over $135 million in equity and debt capital, successfully completed numerous acquisitions—from sourcing to integration—and played a key role in preparing high-growth companies for IPOs by coordinating with key stakeholders such as investment banks, potential investors, stock exchanges, and regulatory and supervisory bodies.
This direct experience with the IPO process in India is a central element of his mandate at MSM Unify, where he will guide the preparation for listing on Indian exchanges alongside the company's overall public market ambitions.
Kapoor's Previous Experience
Prior to joining MSM Unify, Kapoor served as the Chief Financial and Business Officer at Biodeal Pharmaceuticals Limited, where he significantly contributed to strengthening the company's capital structure and preparing the business for a potential public offering. Before that, he spent six years at GirnarSoft Education Services (CollegeDekho.com) as Chief Revenue Officer, participating in several initiatives to raise equity and debt capital, and leading a number of strategic acquisition and integration projects.
He is a graduate of IIM Calcutta and holds a chartered accountant qualification. Additionally, he holds a Master of Commerce degree from Himachal Pradesh University. He is also registered with the Institute of Corporate Affairs (IICA) as a lifelong certified independent director.
Sanjay Laul, founder of MSM Unify, noted: 'Rishi understands what it takes to build a sustainable business. He did this previously in the education sector, at scale and at different stages of the company's journey to public markets. As we expand into new geographical regions and prepare for a listing that reflects both our roots in India and our global reach, his experience in financial strategy, capital raising, and disciplined execution will be invaluable to us.'
The appointment comes amid MSM Unify's ongoing expansion in North America, Europe, the Middle East and North Africa (MENA), India, Africa, and Australia, where the company connects students with universities through a growing network of recruitment partners and institutional relationships built over more than a decade of operation.
Commenting on his appointment, Kapoor stated: 'MSM Unify solves a real problem for students and institutions worldwide, doing so at a scale few companies can replicate. Having spent a significant part of my career in education, I understand how vital strong financial leadership is for building a sustainable and scalable business. I look forward to working with the team to strengthen the company's financial foundation and help shape its next phase of growth.'
Rohit Kumar, Co-founder and President of India Campus Business MSM Unify, added: 'India is where most of the students going abroad originate from, and it is also where the next chapter of MSM Unify is being built. Appointing a CFO with IPO preparation experience sends a clear signal to our institutional partners, agents, and investors that we are building for the long term and at scale, not just for the next quarter.'
