In Muradabad, Uttar Pradesh, a situation arose where a student from the LKG class of a private school was repeatedly bitten by mosquitoes on the school premises. The child's parents sent a complaint to the district municipality (DM) via email, demanding a clean and safe environment at the school.
The parents claim that after the first bite incident, they recorded a complaint in the school register, but the school administration did not take any effective measures. Subsequently, the child was bitten by a mosquito again at school, which increased the family's concern.
In their complaint, the parents emphasized that the presence of mosquitoes poses a risk of serious diseases such as Dengue fever, malaria, and Chikungunya. Therefore, the school is responsible for providing children with a clean and insect-free space.
The parents demanded that the DM conduct an investigation and ensure regular spraying of the school grounds, cleaning, and effective mosquito control measures.
The District Inspector of Schools (DIOS), Ritu Tomar, informed the publication 'AajTak' that all schools had been instructed to carry out regular spraying, cleaning, and adopt effective measures for mosquito control. Following the complaint, private schools were also issued instructions to conduct spraying, as these measures must be implemented by the private schools themselves to prevent similar problems.
