The athlete from Moradabad, who has won 27 national and 10 international medals, recently achieved a gold victory at the First UTT Para National Ranking Table Tennis Championship 2026-27 in Indore.
However, 29-year-old Kunal Arora, who suffers from major thalassemia, was forced to reduce his tennis practice by more than half due to a three-inch leg length difference, constant back pain, and other physical issues.
Despite this, the international para-tennis player plans to travel to Finland on August 26th with the Indian team. Doctors have advised him to use a prosthetic extension to improve mobility and posture.
Arora noted that the imbalance has led to spinal curvature, chronic back pain, and mobility problems. He stated that the device could help during training, although it is not yet clear if it is permitted for competitions.
The cost of the prosthesis is estimated at 266,910 rupees, including VAT, which his family cannot afford.
