The First Lady of Uzbekistan, Ziroat Mirziyoyeva, and the First Lady of Azerbaijan, Mehriban Aliyeva, met in Tashkent and participated in a joint program by visiting the Center for Islamic Civilization. As reported by the Telegram channel of the First Lady of Uzbekistan, they familiarized themselves with exhibitions dedicated to the history, culture, and spiritual heritage of Uzbekistan, as well as the historical ties between the two peoples.
During their visit, Mirziyoyeva and Aliyeva toured the 'Pre-Islamic Civilizations' hall, exhibitions dedicated to the First and Second Renaissance, and the 'New Uzbekistan' hall. Furthermore, the First Ladies studied museum exhibits reflecting the centuries-old historical and cultural connections between the peoples of Uzbekistan and Azerbaijan.
Concluding their visit, they visited the Quran Hall, which serves as the spiritual and architectural center of the exhibition. The main artifact in this hall is the Mus'haf of Uthman—one of the oldest surviving manuscripts of the Quran. This monument of Islamic written culture dates back to the 7th century and is included in the international memory register of UNESCO.
During the meeting, the sides emphasized the importance of further strengthening humanitarian and cultural ties between Uzbekistan and Azerbaijan. The shared history, cultural traditions, and spiritual values uniting the peoples of these two countries were noted.
