The VIVO Orchestra, conducted by Paniz Fariousefi, is scheduled to perform at Rudaki Hall in Tehran on Monday evening. The concert program will feature works by renowned composers from both Iran and around the world.
The concert includes compositions by the German-British composer George Frideric Handel, the British composer Edward Elgar, the Russian composer Pyotr Ilyich Tchaikovsky, as well as Iranian composers Mohammad Saedarifan, Mohammadreza Tafazzoli, Mani Jafarzadeh, and Hassan Rahimi.
Behrad Ali Korchi will serve as concertmaster, and Hora Jonayedi has been appointed as the executive director of the event. This performance is part of the orchestra's ongoing activities aimed at presenting orchestral music and introducing the Iranian public to works from various musical traditions.
Iranian musician, violinist, and conductor Paniz Fariousefi became the first woman to lead the Tehran Symphony Orchestra in its history in November 2025, conducting the 'Abode of Simorgh' concert.
Fariusefi, who is 42 years old, is a graduate of the Tehran Conservatory and the Yerevan State Conservatory. She also holds the position of concertmaster in the Tehran Philharmonic Orchestra. Furthermore, she is the founder and director of the string quartet Novak and has performed as a guest violinist with the New York Philharmonic Orchestra.
