Iran lost to Qatar with a score of 24:22 in the 2026 Asian Youth Handball Championship, which took place on Sunday.
Prior to this, the Persian national team started the tournament with a victory over Saudi Arabia with a score of 28:20 on Friday. On Monday, Iran will play against Kuwait.
The Iranian youth national team was placed in Group B along with Kuwait, Qatar, Saudi Arabia, and Syria. This group appears more difficult of the two, as three teams, besides Iran, are considered serious contenders for the championship title.
