Grupo Amarante, owner of the renowned Salinas Maragogi, replicated its successful model at Japaratinga Lounge Resort. This establishment offers a beachfront stay experience with complete leisure and an all-inclusive system, allowing guests to enjoy their stay without constant financial worries.
Although it shares characteristics with other resorts in Alagoas, Japaratinga has its own distinctions. While Salinas Maragogi stands out for its attentive monitoring team and focus on families with children, Japaratinga, inaugurated in 2019, was awarded Best Resort in Brazil at the Best Travel and Tourism Award 2025/2026. It provides days of rest with a program more focused on adults, a pleasant pace, and high-level gastronomy.
Located approximately 20 minutes by car south of Maragogi, the landscape between the two municipalities is similar: the waters are generally warm, shallow, and calm, although the sea can become rougher and murkier during high tide or rainy periods. The text emphasizes that this stretch of the Coral Coast does not feature the most postcard-perfect landscapes, which are found further north; however, the resort itself offers paid tours to neighboring beaches and natural pools.
Features of Japaratinga Lounge Resort
A unique characteristic of Japaratinga Lounge Resort is that its grounds are crossed by the AL-101 North highway, separating much of the hotel's infrastructure from the beach. However, this potential difficulty is overcome by an excellent architectural solution: access to the beach occurs through a discreet underground tunnel, decorated with vegetation and bamboo walls, making the crossing almost imperceptible.
On the sand strip, sun loungers, chairs, and umbrellas are available, and guests can borrow various items such as bicycles, kayaks, stand-up paddles, rackets, balls, and snorkel masks. For children, toys for building sandcastles are also provided.
Beachfront Structure: Vila da Praia
Complementing the beach area is the structure called Vila da Praia, which features hammocks and a support bar. This bar serves sophisticated snacks, such as shrimp with cassava cream and mignon fillet skewers with cheese fondue. There are also refrigerators stocked with wines, beers, coconut water, and Kibon popsicles for unlimited consumption. At dusk or night, a stage hosts live luau music performances, maximizing the beach atmosphere.
The underground tunnel connects Vila da Praia to the center of Japaratinga, where the main building (with reception and the Tabôa restaurant) and a complex of swimming pools of different depths and purposes are located. Among them, there is a shallow pool with children's slides and another with a gentle current, ideal for floating with buoys. Various physical activities take place daily in this area, including stretching, aquagym, and beach tennis matches on the sand courts, although many guests opt only to relax in the pools.
The Verano bar serves the area and frequently offers live music during lunch, serving more than just snacks; it was possible to taste a complete moqueca with fish porridge, farofa, and accompaniments. The drinks are praised for being well-crafted and varied, including non-alcoholic options like 'La Playa', made with sparkling water, Tahitian lime, Sicilian lime, orange, and mojito syrup.
Despite being spacious, this section of Japaratinga is rarely crowded. For those seeking even more tranquility, the Garden area, completed in 2023, is recommended. This area added more rooms, new restaurants (Amore Forneria, Boogie, and Maka), and a smaller, more intimate pool complex surrounded by sun loungers and daybeds, in addition to having the Mangô bar, which offers light appetizers such as ceviche and octopus carpaccio.
Gastronomy is pointed out as a strong point of Japaratinga. Unlike many all-inclusive accommodations, quality is not compromised by abundance. The resort fulfills the title of 'premium all-inclusive resort' with buffets that exceed the basic, offering flavorful dishes and diverse dining options.
Breakfast at the main Tabôa restaurant is an event due to the vast variety of fruits, breads, cold cuts, and cakes, in addition to daily smoothies and the Nutella dispenser for pancakes and waffles. However, breakfast at the Maka restaurant, which is more reserved and exclusive, was even more impressive. Although smaller, it allows for made-to-order requests, such as Eggs Benedict, croissant stuffed with smoked salmon, avocado toast, and the 'Japaratinga Croque'. An additional highlight is the specialty coffee prepared in the French press.
For lunch, Tabôa maintains quality with surprise buffets, including macaroni inside cheese and seafood moqueca, as well as excellent desserts. There is a dedicated station for children, with salt-free options for babies. Alternatively, one can have lunch at Amore Forneria, which serves salads, pasta, and risottos with grilled choices, accessible via a self-service totem. The baked cookie with ice cream is suggested as a dessert.
For those wanting something different, Moenda, located on the mezzanine of the main building overlooking the pools, offers coffee-based drinks accompanied by cheese bread, coxinha, sandwiches, cakes, and cookies.
Japaratinga has a well-equipped gym, with spinning, crossfit, and weight training rooms, in addition to equipment for Pilates and yoga, and a refrigerator with protein drinks. The class schedule includes stretching, HIIT, and functional training, with the morning being the busiest period, although the author preferred to train in the late afternoon.
In the evening, the game room in the main building, which is not for children, attracts couples and adults for board games, cards, arcade games, and billiards, having hosted a ping-pong tournament during the stay.
Dinner can be had at Tabôa, which features weekly themed nights (such as sushi night), or at the Vila da Praia stage, where there are forró to rock performances in the late afternoon and evening. The nightly highlight is the Garden area, specifically the Acoustic Shell, which hosts cinema sessions and acoustic shows, viewable from the grandstand or the outdoor tables, shared with Amore Forneria and Boogie.
Amore Forneria operates at night as a pizzeria with naturally leavened discs baked in a wood-fired oven, while Boogie operates as a burger and fries food truck. An exclusive alternative is the Maka restaurant, which offers a four-course tasting menu with contemporary cuisine and a Northeastern touch, signed by Pernambuco chef Pedro Godoy. This dinner must be scheduled upon check-in.
The night culminates at Pub Overdrive, a speakeasy-style bar hidden next to Amore Forneria. The place has billiards tables, typical snacks, and taps of artisanal beers from Caatinga Rocks, maintaining a lively atmosphere until the start of the show near midnight.
Japaratinga stands out for being relatively compact compared to other resorts, and all accommodations are new and spacious, equipped with balconies and L’Occitane au Brésil amenities. There are differences between categories: Smart rooms (up to two guests) and Standard rooms (up to three guests) are in the main building, near the reception and main pools. Garden area rooms, expanded in 2023, include amenities such as a beer tap and rocking chair on the balcony, in addition to being pet friendly. These categories are Garden Suite (up to four guests) and Garden Exclusive (up to two guests), with a soaking tub.
Regarding logistics, the Costa dos Corais Airport is under construction in Maragogi, with completion expected in December 2026. Currently, the nearest airports are Maceió (120 km away) and Recife (130 km away), and the resort provides private and shared transfers from these two airports through the partner agency Luck Receptivo.
