Iran defeats Taipei at the 2026 U17 World Volleyball Championship

Iran secured a confident victory over Taipei with a score of 3:0 (25-15, 25-21, 25-17) at the FIVB U17 Men's World Volleyball Championship 2026, which took place in Doha, Qatar, on Sunday.

In the match, Iran demonstrated strong play, with Sina Hazrati scoring 15 points for his team, while Po Wei Huang earned seven points for Taipei.

Prior to this, Iran successfully performed in the initial matches of Group E, defeating Algeria 3:0 and Pakistan also 3:0.

Thanks to these results, the Iranian team advanced to the round of 16 of the tournament. Iran has traditionally achieved significant success in junior volleyball, so participation in the U17 World Championship holds special significance for them.

The inaugural edition of the tournament in 2024 was won by Italy, which defeated Argentina in the final. Now Iran aims to challenge the strongest teams and win a spot in the medal round.
