The Dubai Municipality has commissioned a new 102-meter bridge in Mushrif National Park. This new structure provides a smoother route for mountain bike enthusiasts and pedestrians within Dubai's largest forest.
The bridge connects previously separated sections of the mountain biking trail in the park, allowing cyclists to move along a single continuous route without needing to stop to cross roads used by vehicles.
The structure features two separate passages: one designated for mountain bikers and the other for pedestrians. This helps safely separate traffic trajectories and facilitates visitor movement throughout the park area.
The mountain biking route passes over the bridge for a length of 182 meters, thereby adding a new node to the park's extensive network of trails. This bridge offers guests the opportunity to enjoy Mushrif's natural surroundings during walks, cycling, and exploring the park without interruptions.
The new facility is part of the Dubai Municipality's broader efforts to develop Mushrif National Park as a destination for active recreation, adventure, and a healthy lifestyle. The park, being Dubai's largest forest, attracts families, cyclists, pedestrians, fitness enthusiasts, and those who wish to spend time in nature.
Due to the growing interest in mountain biking, walking, and other forms of active recreation, this infrastructure has been designed to make these experiences safer and more accessible while encouraging people to lead an active lifestyle.
Bader Anwahi, Executive Director of Public Facilities at the Dubai Municipality, noted that the bridge provides cyclists with a safer and seamless way to navigate the park. He stated that 'the new bridge is a valuable addition to Mushrif National Park, enhancing the mountain biking experience by ensuring a continuous connection between two sections of the trail.'
He also emphasized that the development of Mushrif National Park is focused not just on adding new facilities, but on creating a place that unites adventure, nature, and an active lifestyle. The bridge was designed to blend harmoniously into the park's natural environment while improving access and movement along the trails.
Visitors can now start their cycling or walking route at Mushrif Hub—a dedicated area for mountain bike enthusiasts, pedestrians, and nature lovers—before heading onto the new, connected route. This project aligns with Dubai's overall strategy to create more accessible public spaces that stimulate physical activity and provide residents and visitors with more opportunities to enjoy the city's natural landscapes.
