On the day of Putrada Ekadashi, observed in the Shukla Paksha of the month of Sawan, women across the country observe a fast for their children. According to beliefs, observing this fast and worshipping on this day removes all obstacles in the offspring's life, ensuring them constant well-being and prosperity. On this day, it is customary to worship either Lord Vishnu or Lord Krishna. Women fast from morning till evening for their children. Below is information regarding the time when this fast is completed.

According to the Hindu calendar, the Ekadashi date falls between 2:00 AM on August 23, 2026, and 4:18 AM on August 24, 2026. Based on the ascending date, the Putrada Ekadashi fast will be observed on Sunday, August 23.

The auspicious time for worshipping the deity on Putrada Ekadashi is the Goduli Muhurt. This fortunate period will last approximately 22 minutes, starting at 7:01 PM and ending at 7:23 PM.

The completion of the Sawan Putrada Ekadashi fast is scheduled for August 24, which is also the last Monday of the month of Sawan. According to the Hindu calendar, the most auspicious time to conclude the fast is from 5:58 AM to 8:39 AM.

On August 24, during Dwadashi, after bathing, one should first offer water to the Sun. Then, the place of worship or temple must be purified and sprinkled with Ganga Jal to sanctify it. After this, a lamp is lit before the image or photograph of Lord Vishnu, offering flowers, fruits, naivedya, and tulsi leaves. Next, the Aarti of Lord Vishnu is performed, and mantras are recited according to personal belief.

During the completion of the fast, one should ask Lord Vishnu for forgiveness for any unintentional mistakes or transgressions. After that, within one's means, one should donate food items such as flour, lentils, and rice to the temple or needy people. Seasonal fruits or green vegetables can also be donated. Concluding the ritual, one must raise hands in prayer, wishing happiness for their descendants and prosperity for the family. Finally, the fast is broken by consuming the offerings and prasad brought to Lord Vishnu.
