Uzbekistan and Tajikistan have reached an agreement to accelerate the implementation of joint initiatives in the fields of cotton cultivation, grain crops, and other areas of agriculture.
This agreement was concluded during the visit of J. Abduzukharov, Deputy Minister of Agriculture of Uzbekistan, to Tajikistan. He participated in the International Food Industry Forum and the UPAK EXPO–2026 international exhibition.
At the opening ceremony of the forum and during the plenary session, Abduzukharov presented information on Uzbekistan's efforts to develop agricultural processing, agrologistics, and modern packaging infrastructure. He also highlighted issues of attracting investment to this sector.
Participants in the discussions discussed issues of agricultural product processing and export, ensuring food security, and developing international cooperation.
During his visit, the Deputy Minister of Agriculture of Uzbekistan met with Bahromjon Rajab Ahmadzoda, Deputy Minister of Agriculture of Tajikistan. The parties discussed the current status of projects being implemented by the two countries in the field of cotton, grain production, and other aspects of the agricultural sector.
Following this meeting, it was decided to accelerate the execution of existing projects, coordinate their implementation, and strengthen direct working contacts between the responsible structures of Uzbekistan and Tajikistan.
Abduzukharov also visited the UPAK EXPO–2026 international exhibition. Uzbek companies CITRIC.UZ, EUROSNAB, PLAST TECH SOLUTION (FOOD PACK), ASIA PACK, and STAR CUP participated in the event, presenting their products.
The goal of this visit was to expand interaction between Uzbekistan and Tajikistan in the fields of agriculture, food industry, agricultural processing, and export through the implementation of practical projects.
