Expert discusses the increase in workload at tech companies after the implementation of artificial intelligence

Initially, many expected that the emergence of artificial intelligence (AI) would simplify workflows. However, one technology specialist from Bangalore shares a different experience: according to her, instead of making work easier, AI has multiplied the workload on employees.

Sharing a video on Instagram, Rupali Tiwari explained that after the advent of AI-based tools, the expectations of managers and executives in the technology industry have sharply increased. They now believe that because AI performs a significant part of the work, employees are capable of handling a much larger volume of tasks than before.

Previously, there was a fear of job loss, and tasks seemed simpler. Rupali noted that at the very beginning of using AI, life did indeed seem easier, but there was also a concern that jobs might disappear. However, over time, the situation changed drastically: managers began to assume that if AI could simplify work, then employees could be assigned significantly more tasks.

Rupali asserts that if an employee was previously assigned five tasks, they are now given twenty to twenty-five. She emphasized that no matter how much work a person manages to complete, it is not enough. People tend to think that since AI does everything, employees should do nothing.

She gave the example of her friend, a software engineer, who manages about ten projects simultaneously at a large company: he writes the code himself, conducts its review, and handles deployment.

According to her, the pace of work and expectations have risen so much after the introduction of AI that it gives the impression that companies are trying to complete work that should have taken ten years in just six months or a year. The caption to the video stated that this should not have happened with the advent of AI. At the end of the video, Rupali asked whether this experience applies only to her company or to the entire technology industry, and if other employees are facing this.

Many users in the comments agreed with Rupali's statements. One noted that AI increased productivity but simultaneously raised expectations. Another commenter stated that the more AI there is, the higher the workload. The question arises: does AI truly reduce the volume of employees' work, or are companies using it as a means to achieve a greater volume of results?
