The Kia Seltos has celebrated its seven-year anniversary. This crossover was first introduced by Kia on August 22, 2019, and became the first model produced locally in India. The Seltos played a significant role in Kia's success in the Indian market.
Between August 2019 and July 2026, over 800,000 units of the Seltos were sold. Over seven years, the company sold 828,684 units of the Seltos. Of the total sales in India, 667,097 units were sold domestically, and 161,587 units were exported.
At the manufacturing plant in Anantapur, Andhra Pradesh, the Seltos accounts for 43 percent of the 1.9 million vehicles produced. The same complex also produces 683,679 Sonet and 347,590 Carens MPV.
In the Indian market, the Seltos is available in 16 different variants, covering numerous price categories. Currently, the new generation of Seltos is being sold in India, which is larger and equipped with more features.
In the fiscal year 2020, 81,717 units of the Seltos were sold in India. In 2021, the company sold 89,173 units, and in 2022, 95,929 units. In 2023, sales reached 100,132 units, and in 2024, 100,423 units. In 2025, 72,618 units were sold, and in 2026, 83,747 units in India.
Additionally, 161,587 units of the Seltos have been exported. To date, in the fiscal year 2027, 43,358 units of this crossover have been sold.
This vehicle has a 5-star B-NCAP safety rating. The starting price of the car is 11 lakh rupees before tax, while the maximum price reaches 21.82 lakh rupees before tax. The Seltos offers three engine options: a 1.5-liter naturally aspirated engine with 115 hp, a 1.5-liter turbocharged diesel engine with 116 hp, and a 1.5-liter turbocharged gasoline engine producing 160 hp.
The claimed fuel consumption for the automatic transmission with the diesel engine is 19.1 kilometers per liter, while the gasoline engine provides a consumption of 17.9 kilometers per liter.
