After her debut in acting in the 2001 film 'Rakhna Hai Tere Dil Mein', Diya Mirza has appeared in many memorable projects. The actress, who recently featured in the Netflix series 'Operation White Ocean', shared memories of the beginning of her journey. She noted that working on the film 'Tumsa Nahin Dekha' taught her not to feel objectified, even when she had to display her entire body.
During one of her performances in Zoom Spotlight Sessions, the actress recounted that in the 2004 film 'Tumsa Nahin Dekha', she learned to feel her figure as safe, comfortable, and strong.
Diya Mirza recalled a song shot by Vaibhavi Merchant and mentioned that she had to remove her clothes, while actually wearing a bra and underwear. She specified that there was a crowd of 500 men present during the shoot, and the crew numbered 200 people, most of whom were also men. According to her, she probably did not have such an experience in other films.
The actress admitted that she realized she could completely ignore the gazes of men and enjoy her feminine energy and beauty without feeling inadequate. In Diya's opinion, this entire experience was 'consciousness expanding'. She added that people like Bhatta, Anarag, and Imran, as well as everyone present, helped her understand that the main thing is not this, but much more.
Furthermore, during this interview, Diya acknowledged that excessive worry about appearance and beauty can negatively affect a person's psyche. She stated: 'There is a price for wanting to look beautiful. That price is the peace of your mind, and I do not want to fall into that trap.'
Diya reported that Anarag Basu was the director of the film, but Mohit Suri later completed the work. Mahesh Bhatt and Mukesh Bhatt served as producers.
