The Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) has launched the 'Fix Schools Campaign' in Uttar Pradesh with the aim of highlighting the current condition of government schools. The party claims that this initiative will reveal the actual state of those schools where students face a lack of basic facilities. In the initial phase of the campaign, the Aam Aadmi Party has published videos of dilapidated schools in several districts, including Varanasi, Ghazipur, Jaunpur, and Gorakhpur. As part of this campaign, the Aam Aadmi Party has also released a helpline number, 838292809. According to the party, any citizen can send a video of the deplorable condition of a school in their area to this number, after which AAP workers will contact that person.
Sanjay Singh, in-charge of Aam Aadmi Party in Uttar Pradesh and Rajya Sabha MP, commented that for some time now, children across the country have been taking to the streets to raise issues regarding the poor condition of schools and their rights. He also stated that education and schooling have become an important issue in the current political scenario. Sanjay Singh further said that the Aam Aadmi Party will run the 'Fix Schools Campaign' in Uttar Pradesh and resolved to showcase the condition of schools across the entire state.
He alleged that the government is claiming school renovation (revitalization), but Sanjay Singh said that the Aam Aadmi Party will broadcast a series to show the truth behind these claims and present the actual condition of the schools in the state.
Sanjay Singh urged the people of Uttar Pradesh to cooperate with this campaign. He requested people to send videos of the plight of their local schools to the 838292809 helpline number. Through this medium, people can not only provide information about the condition of schools in Uttar Pradesh but also share videos. Sanjay Singh questioned why the Uttar Pradesh government is afraid to show the condition of the schools if it has improved them under the revitalization scheme. During this, he also displayed videos related to the poor condition of schools. Targeting the BJP government, he said that all claims made by the government regarding schools are false.
