Banks will be closed for four days next week; it is recommended to complete business on Monday

Those planning to visit a bank next week should complete all their business by Monday, August 24th. This is because state and private bank branches will be closed from August 25th to August 30th due to holidays. However, ATMs will remain open, and customers can conduct online transactions.

Today marks the fourth Saturday of the month, resulting in banks being closed, as per the rules of the Reserve Bank of India (RBI), banks close on the second and fourth Saturdays of the month. Furthermore, tomorrow, August 23rd, banks will be closed due to Sunday. Several other holidays are scheduled for next week.

Although August 23rd will be a national holiday due to Sunday, all banks will operate on Monday. However, increased workload is expected on this day. Therefore, if possible, it is better to resolve your issues online to avoid visiting a bank branch.

On August 25th, Tuesday, banks in Kochi and Thiruvananthapuram will be closed for Milad-un-Nabi, First Onam, and Milad-e-Sharif, although bank branches will function in other locations. On August 26th, most banks will be closed, including major cities such as Bangalore, Patna, Lucknow, Nagpur, Mumbai, Delhi, Ranchi, and Raipur. The festival of Eid-e-Milad, Baravfat, and Milad-un-Nabi will be observed in these cities.

Raksha Bandhan will also be declared a holiday. Additionally, major cities including Ahmedabad, Bhopal, Jaipur, Kanpur, and Kochi will be closed due to regional holidays. Moreover, banks in Northeast India will be closed due to the Raksha Bandhan festival, which falls on August 28th.

August 29th is the last and fifth Saturday of the month, but bank branches will be open on this day. Banks only close on the second and fourth Saturdays of the month. And on August 30th, banks will be closed as this day falls on a Sunday.
