The Ministry of Health and Family Welfare (MoHFW) urged the public to recognize early signs of H1N1 and seek medical attention if symptoms persist. This appeal followed the registration of over 1700 cases in Delhi.
Dr. Rajesh Bhardwaj, founder of MedFirst ENT Centre and a specialist in ENT diseases and sleep, explained the nature and transmission methods of the H1N1 infection. He noted that H1N1, or swine flu, can pose a more serious and dangerous threat, causing heightened concern.
Symptoms include high fever, body aches, weakness, lethargy, cough, sore throat, difficulty breathing, and sometimes loss of smell. Throat irritation and coughing may also be observed.
To limit the spread of the virus, it is recommended to stay home when ill, cover the mouth and nose when coughing or sneezing, wash hands regularly, and improve indoor ventilation.
