Analysis of the combustion process

Internal combustion requires a proper balance between fuel and oxygen. As altitude increases, the air becomes thinner, resulting in a lower amount of oxygen per unit of volume. With less oxygen entering the cylinders, the burning of fuel generates less energy, which directly impacts the car's strength.

The impacts caused by altitude change vary depending on the structure of the mechanical system. Even with the electronic control unit working to prevent excessive fuel consumption, consumption may increase slightly at higher altitudes because the driver needs to press the accelerator more to achieve the expected acceleration. It is important to note that it is not necessary to make mechanical modifications before traveling to high areas, since the electronic system automatically adjusts the vehicle to the new atmospheric conditions.
