WhatsApp plans major visual updates on iPhone, adopting Apple's Liquid Glass design

WhatsApp is preparing significant aesthetic modifications for its iPhone application, aiming to increase integration with Liquid Glass, a design style introduced by Apple itself. These innovations were detected by WABetaInfo in WhatsApp for iOS beta version 26.33.10.18, which was distributed via TestFlight, and are expected to affect components of the video player and media editor.

Although these changes are still in the development phase and have not been released to test program participants, they signal that the application continues to adjust its interface to align with the visual standard established by Apple.

The update to the editor and player is part of a sequence of transformations that WhatsApp has been implementing since it began incorporating Liquid Glass into iOS. This new look can already be seen in various parts of the application, such as the conversation list, the Updates section, and the main chat screen.

One example of this is the message input bar on the conversation screen, which now floats over the chat content with a translucent appearance. Furthermore, the navigation area has also received additions of transparency and blur effects. With these new additions, WhatsApp continues to adapt elements that still retain the previous design.

Currently, there is no scheduled date for the release of these new features. The features remain under development and have not yet been made available, not even to those participating in tests. It is expected that they will first arrive in a future beta version of WhatsApp for iOS, requiring iPhone users to wait to experience the new Liquid Glass effects in the media editor and video player.
