Sarcoidosis manifested in young American woman with vision loss and nasal congestion

American medical specialists documented the case of a 37-year-old woman who sought help due to complaints of deteriorating visual functions and pronounced bilateral nasal congestion.

Following a biopsy of tissue from a small salivary gland taken from the lining of her lower lip, a significant number of granulomas were discovered. Based on this data, doctors diagnosed sarcoidosis.

The patient's condition significantly improved after starting therapy with glucocorticoid hormones. This clinical case was published in the journal JAMA Otolaryngology — Head & Neck Surgery.
