According to the Central Bank, as of August 1, 2026, the total number of bank cards in circulation in Uzbekistan reached 75.7 million units.
Since the beginning of the current year, this indicator has shown significant growth, increasing by 7.4 million pieces, which corresponds to an increase of 10.9 percent.
Payment infrastructure development
Parallel to the growth in cards, the number of installed payment terminals also increased during the same period. It rose from 430.8 thousand to 453.5 thousand units, meaning that an additional 22.7 thousand terminals were commissioned, or a growth of 5.3 percent.
Furthermore, the network of ATMs and info kiosks expanded by 17.3 percent, increasing from 40.1 thousand to 47 thousand units.
Dynamics of financial operations
The volume of receipts processed through payment terminals from January to July 2026 amounted to 387.4 trillion soms. It is worth noting that for the entire year of 2025, a similar indicator was 460.3 trillion soms.
With a 10.9 percent increase in the number of cards, terminal turnover grew by 44.3 percent, indicating increased user activity. There was also an increase in average monthly receipts per card—they rose from 562 thousand to 731 thousand soms, reflecting the expanded use of cashless payments in daily needs.
