At the opening of the junior world judo championship in Guayaquil, Ecuador, Uzbekistan won four medals. According to the Olympic Committee press service, these include one gold and three bronze awards.
Iroda Siroddinova won and secured the world champion title in the under 40 kg category. Additionally, three other Uzbek judokas received bronze medals.
Bobur Yusupov took third place in the under 55 kg division, while Alina Kolyucheva and Charos Hikmatova won bronze in the under 44 kg and under 48 kg categories, respectively. Thus, after the first day of competition, Uzbekistan has four medals: one gold and three bronze.
