Chery has expanded its Tiggo 7 lineup by introducing the new Distinction Dark Edition model. This version includes design updates, as well as improvements to the safety system and transmission.
The new edition is available for R415,900, which is an increase of R26,000 compared to the standard Tiggo 7 Distinction model on which it is based.
As the name suggests, the Dark Edition features several new design elements. These include a dark finish on the radiator grille, window trim, and 18-inch alloy wheels. Additionally, the car is equipped with a tinted rear window.
The dark styling continues inside the cabin, where black synthetic leather upholstery and corresponding interior elements are used. The cabin is also fitted with artificial leather upholstery.
Although the car retains the familiar 1.5-liter turbocharged gasoline engine, which continues to produce 108 kW of power and 210 Nm of torque, the Dark Edition replaces the CVT gearbox used in the Distinction with a six-speed dual-clutch transmission, which promises enhanced responsiveness.
Regarding safety, the number of airbags has increased from four to seven, thanks to the addition of side curtain airbags and presumably a knee airbag for the driver.
Other standard features include a 12.3-inch digital instrument cluster and a corresponding central touchscreen supporting Apple CarPlay and intelligent voice commands. A push-button start mechanism and dual-zone climate control are also provided.
Buyers can choose from four exterior color schemes: Khaki White, Phantom Grey, Carbon Black, as well as a two-tone Black and White option. After-sales service includes a five-year or 150,000 km warranty, as well as a five-year or 75,000 km service plan.
