Uzhydromet issued a warning about the probability of mudflow and flood phenomena in the foothills and mountainous regions of Uzbekistan between August 22 and 23 due to forecasted precipitation.
Residents and visitors to these areas are strongly advised to take necessary precautions, as some settlements may experience flooding.
The risks affect several regions of Uzbekistan. In Tashkent region, Akhangaransky, Bostanlitsky, Parkent, Pskent, Urtachirchitsky, Yukorichirchitsky districts, as well as the cities of Angren and Almalyk, have been identified as potentially dangerous.
Jizzakh region is under threat in Zaaminsky, Bakhmal, Gallyaralsky, Sharaf Rashidov, Farish, and Yangiabad districts. Namangan region includes the Papsky, Kasansai, Chartak, Chust, Namangan, and Yangikorgan districts in the risk zone.
Fergana region will face possible floods in Sokh, Shahimardan, Fergana, and Besharyk districts. In Andijan region, the warning applies to Andijansky, Asakinsky, Jalakuduksky, Kurgantepinsky, Paxtabadsky, Izbaskansky, Khojaabadsky, and Markhamatsky districts, as well as the city of Khanabad.
Kashkadarya region is covered by the warning for Yakkabagsky, Dekhkanabadsky, Chirakchinsky, Kitabsky, Shahrisyabzsky, Kamashinsky, and Guzar districts. Finally, Surkhandarya region is warned regarding Saryasinsky, Uzunsky, Altynsaysky, Denausky, Baysunsky, Sherabadsky, Shurchinsky, Kumkurgan, and Muzrabat districts.
