Actor Tom Alter's Last Film Released Nine Years After His Death

The legendary director of Bengali cinema and recipient of the national award, Raja Sen, passed away on Sunday at a government hospital in Kolkata after a long illness. Raja Sen, known for his outstanding film 'Damu', was 71 years old and had been struggling with serious health problems recently.

According to sources at the hospital, he had been on life support for the past few days. His passing has caused a wave of grief in the circles of Bengali cinema, television, and documentary art.

According to senior doctors at the hospital, Raja Sen suffered from serious issues related to several vital organs. In recent days, the function of his lungs, heart, and kidneys significantly deteriorated. The medical team made every effort to save him, but despite being on a ventilator, his condition did not improve, and he eventually passed away.

Throughout his many years of career, Raja Sen directed not only feature films but also numerous well-known television series and documentaries. Among his memorable works are 'Atmiyo Swadjan', 'Desh', 'Debipaksha', 'Krishnakantar Vil', 'Laboratory', and 'Maya Mridang'.

The film 'Desh', released in 2002, featured Jayachandran and Abhishek Bachchan. Furthermore, he directed documentaries about many cultural figures, such as the great music singer Suchitra Mitra. The death of Raja Sen marks the end of a rich chapter in Bengali art and cinema.
