Musician and rapper Honey Singh expressed his admiration for actor Yash's portrayal of Ravana in the recently released trailer for the film 'Ramayana'. During a live stream on Instagram on Thursday, the artist commented on the trailer, directed by Nitish Tiwari, and praised Yash's performance.
Honey Singh called the Kannada actor 'incredible' and stated that he looks better than Ranbir Kapoor, who plays Lord Rama in the film. During his Instagram Live appearance, Honey Singh noted: 'Yash Bhai is from Bangalore. He played Ravana. Honestly, I watched the 'Ramayana' teaser. I am a big fan of Shri Rama. I have nothing against Ravana. But how Yash Bhai looks. In my opinion, Yash seems better to me than Ranbir Bhai.'
Furthermore, Honey Singh expressed hope that when the film is released in theaters at the end of this year, it will not offend anyone's feelings. He added: 'I hope the film will be very good. So as not to hurt anyone's feelings. Just like we watched Ramayana since childhood, and how we saw Ramlila in Delhi and Kanpur, may it remain just as complete for us. May there be no changes, because these are childhood emotions.'
Recently, Yash participated in the show 'Aap Ki Adalat', where he was asked why he chose the role of Ravana despite having the freedom as a producer. He explained that to demonstrate Rama's goodness, Ravana's evil must also be shown. He confidently stated: 'No one can portray evil better than me.'
When Sharma jokingly asked if he had taken responsibility for playing the villain on screen, Yash replied: 'Even if I play a good character, no one can be better than me.'
Besides Yash and Ranbir Kapoor, Sai Pallavi, Sunny Deol, and Ravi Dubey also star in 'Ramayana'. The film will be released in two parts. The first part will appear worldwide on November 8, 2026, and the second part during Diwali 2027.
