Bone analysis from Ireland showed that Mesolithic finds were bear and wild boar remains, not domestic livestock

Researchers analyzed proteins extracted from bones found at the Ferriters Cove monument in Ireland. This analysis allowed them to refute the assumption that domestic animal husbandry already existed among hunter-gatherers in late Mesolithic Ireland.

It was discovered that the bones, initially thought to be cow remains, are actually the remains of a bear and a wild boar. The results of this study were published in the scientific journal PAST.
