Robin Uthappa presents his India squad for ODI World Cup 2027, including Vaibhav Suryavanshi

Former player from the Kolkata and Chennai teams, Robin Uthappa, made predictions regarding the Indian national team's squad for the upcoming ODI World Cup 2027. He raised questions about the possible participation of Vaibhav Suryavanshi, Sanju Samson, and Bhuvneshwar Kumar in the tournament.

According to Uthappa, Vaibhav Suryavanshi, Bhuvneshwar Kumar, and Sanju Samson should be included in the World Cup 2027 squad. He also presented his favorite list of 15 players for this World Cup. Uthappa noted that some talented athletes might remain outside the main squad.

In his selection, Uthappa did not include Yashvi Jaiswal and Ishan Kishan. Bhuvneshwar Kumar's place in the squad is due to him taking 28 wickets in IPL 2026, as well as the fact that he last played an ODI for the national team about five years ago.

It is worth noting that Washington Sundar and Harshit Rana, who were previously part of the Indian baseball team under Gautam Gambhir, are predicted by Uthappa not to make the ODI World Cup 2027 squad, despite their recent participation in baseball matches.

Uthappa gave Sanju Samson a spot in his favorite team, while Ishan Kishan was overlooked. According to Uthappa, Sanju Samson is capable of playing in the top order and fulfilling the role of a finisher in matches.

For the ODI World Cup, Uthappa included Hardik Pandya in his 15-player squad, but he did not give a spot to another player who could serve as a quick all-rounder. Among the four main fast bowlers in Uthappa's team are Jasprit Bumrah, Bhuvneshwar Kumar, Mohammed Siraj, and Arshdeep Singh.

Uthappa stated that his team for the 2027 World Cup in South Africa is ideal preparation if these 15 players play over the next year, calling it a 'stunning team'.

India's squad for 2027 according to Robin Uthappa includes: Shubman Gill, Rohit Sharma, Vaibhav Suryavanshi, Virat Kohli, Shreyas Iyer, KL Rahul, Sanju Samson, Hardik Pandya, Axar Patel, Ravindra Jadeja, Kuldeep Yadav, Jasprit Bumrah, Bhuvneshwar Kumar, Mohammed Siraj, and Arshdeep Singh.

Rohit Sharma will continue playing in ODIs against Zimbabwe in September despite retirement rumors

Despite rumors of a possible retirement, Rohit Sharma intends to continue his career. After scoring a century in the last ODI match during the tour in England, thereby refuting critics, debates continue about his future in ODI format, including the question of his participation in the 2027 World Cup.

However, there is good news for Rohit Sharma's fans: he will be back on the field soon. His play will not stop, as next month, in September, he will play against West Indies, where a productive performance is expected.

After long discussions between the BCCI and selectors, it became clear that Rohit Sharma will be included in the squad for the ODI series against the West Indies. He plans to demonstrate his usual explosive style in this series and also strengthen his chances of participating in the World Cup.

On the other hand, uncertainty also surrounds the future of chief selector Ajit Agarkar. During the tour in England, reports circulated that the selectors wanted to replace Rohit Sharma with young players such as Yashasvi Jaiswal, and it was even suggested that the ODI at Lord's could be his last match. Nevertheless, by scoring a century at Lord's, Rohit made it clear that he does not intend to end his career.

Furthermore, a discussion took place with high-ranking BCCI officials, resulting in the decision to give him more opportunities. Now, his performances will be evaluated based on each series. Thus, fans will once again be able to see Hitman's 'destructive power' in the next series.

Following the Indian team's brilliant performances in three major ICC tournaments, it was assumed that Ajit Agarkar's tenure would be extended until the 2027 ODI World Cup. However, new information suggests an upcoming major meeting of the BCCI after the Test series in Sri Lanka, where a decision on Agarkar's future will be made.

The opinions of the selectors and senior BCCI officials regarding Rohit Sharma's future did not align. When the selectors leaned towards changes, the council secretary stated that Rohit would play as long as he was in the scheme. This statement was not widely approved by the selectors.
