Lego launches Batman Batmobile: Batman Returns with mechanism that reveals the Batmissile

Lego has launched the Lego DC Batman: Batman Returns Batmobile set, composed of 2,269 pieces, which represents for the first time in blocks the car used by Batman in the 1992 film. This model was created in collaboration with Warner Bros. Discovery Global Consumer Products and will be available in stores starting September 4th, costing US$ 229.99, which is equivalent to approximately R$ 1,191, according to Thursday's exchange rate (20).

The kit faithfully replicates the elongated silhouette, the rear turbine, the folding canopy, and the cockpit of the vehicle designed under the direction of Tim Burton. Once assembled, the model measures 45 cm in length, 17 cm in width, and 10 cm in height, according to the manufacturer itself, and is recommended for people aged 18 or older.

The most notable feature of this set is its transformation mechanism, something unprecedented in a Lego Batmobile. When activated by a button, the side panels open, exposing the Batmissile, which functions as a hidden escape vehicle inside the car. An articulated arm system simulates the scene seen in the movie, allowing the piece to be displayed in its two distinct configurations.

Furthermore, the set incorporates six details related to the film, including the tracking device implemented by The Penguin. To achieve the desired finish, the Lego design team had to develop three new components, including a never-before-seen mask for the Batman minifigure.

The product comes with an exclusive minifigure of the character, whose cape was specifically molded for this set, as well as a stand displaying the Batman Returns logo. It is part of the latest collection of display models that Lego has dedicated to the DC hero.

The Lego DC Batman: Batman Returns Batmobile (code 76355) will have priority access for members of the Lego Insiders program starting September 1st, followed by general public sale three days later, on September 4th. The disclosed prices are US$ 229.99 in the United States, 209.99 euros in Europe, and 189.99 pounds in the United Kingdom, corresponding to R$ 1,191, R$ 1,270, and R$ 1,343, respectively, using Thursday's exchange rate. The company has not yet provided information on the arrival date or specific price for the Brazilian market, although Lego display kits generally arrive in the country months after the international launch and at a cost higher than direct conversion due to taxes and shipping.
