Recently, in the city of Castelló d'Empúries, Girona province, Spain, National Guard forces (Guardia Civil) confiscated over 240 counterfeit luxury watches.
According to estimates from experts consulted by the authorities from the brands, the market value of these items exceeds 1.5 million euros. The operation began after military personnel inspected two vehicles—a car and a van, both bearing Spanish license plates.
The watches were found inside these vehicles. Among the counterfeits were models from well-known brands such as Rolex, Lacoste, and Omega; if they were genuine, their market value could have reached 1,557,560 euros.
The seized goods, which imitated products of internationally recognized brands, were intended for sale and distribution in the residential areas of Empúrabrava, located in Castelló d'Empúries.
As a result of this operation, the National Guard is investigating two individuals, aged 43 and 60, on charges of crimes against industrial property. All items related to the case were seized.
