The Center decided on the establishment of a judicial bench of the High Court of Jammu and Kashmir in Ladakh on Thursday.
In a message on the social media platform X, Union Home Minister Amit Shah stated that the government is fully committed to the comprehensive development of Ladakh. He also noted that this decision will improve citizens' access to justice residing in remote areas.
Shah reported that 'the Union Cabinet, under the leadership of Prime Minister Shri Narendra Modi, has decided to establish a judicial bench of the High Court of Jammu and Kashmir in Ladakh.'
He added that this will significantly enhance citizens' access to justice in the remote parts of Ladakh by reducing the time required to receive their due legal services. The government, according to him, is fully focused on the comprehensive development of Ladakh and ensuring constitutional guarantees.
