Fergana Region and Rosatom Discuss Opportunities for Using Nuclear Technologies

According to the Fergana Region's hokimiyat, representatives of the Fergana Region and the Russian corporation Rosatom held discussions on the prospects of applying nuclear and other advanced technologies, as well as potential joint investment projects.

On August 19, 2026, the Hokim of the Fergana Region, Khayrullo Bozorov, received a delegation led by Alexey Dremuchev, CEO of the regional center of Rosatom in Central Asia.

The parties discussed issues of mutually beneficial cooperation, the implementation of future investment projects, and production localization. The Russian side presented information on Rosatom's activities in various fields, including nuclear energy, mechanical engineering, nuclear medicine, digital technologies, and modern materials production.

Participants noted that Uzbekistan, particularly the Fergana Region, possesses a favorable investment climate and significant industrial potential.

Opportunities were considered for launching a pilot project in the field of medicine, as well as joint initiatives in the sectors of fuel and energy, energy storage, composite material production, personnel training, transport, and logistics.

The region's Hokim confirmed his readiness to support joint projects and initiatives that will bring mutual benefit. Following the meeting, an agreement was reached to develop a roadmap covering priority areas of cooperation and the implementation of joint projects.
