GWM launches limited edition TerraForce of the Tank 300 in Brazil for R$ 350 thousand

GWM has launched the special TerraForce version of the Tank 300, a model developed specifically in Brazil. This edition aims to accentuate the vehicle's adventurous profile by incorporating customizations inspired by owner modifications.

The GWM Tank 300 TerraForce will be produced in a limited run of 300 units and will cost R$ 350,000, representing an increase of R$ 8 thousand over the standard model price.

TerraForce Special Edition Details

This special edition also introduces a sub-brand with the same name, created exclusively for the Brazilian market. The logo of this sub-brand features a crest with elements referencing the country's diverse biomes.

The limited edition GWM Tank 300 TerraForce comes with Zenith matte gray paint, a color not previously available on the model. Furthermore, the front grille, where the model name is written out, was designed in Brazil, although it is already in use in China.

The wheels maintain a diameter of 18 inches, but in the TerraForce edition, they feature a distinct design simulating the beadlock feature. A functional roof rack has been installed, capable of supporting 75 kg when the vehicle is stationary and 50 kg in motion. The aesthetic package is completed by an exclusive spare tire cover and emblems with the edition logo applied to the sides, rear, and interior of the car. It is important to note that the tires used and the mechanical assembly remain unchanged.

Additionally, the TerraForce edition offers improvements to the Tank 300's equipment. The front seats now have backrest ventilation in addition to seat ventilation, and the driver has the option to select among eight different massage modes.

Buyers also receive a welcome kit that includes a cap, a Kouda thermos bottle, a flashlight, a bottle opener, a leather cover for the manual, and a letter signed by the GWM Brazil board of directors. The owner will have access to an exclusive consumer service channel from the brand.

Although square-shaped SUVs are trending in China and many are arriving in Brazil, most of these vehicles only present an off-road look, sharing their structure with other models more focused on highways.

Tank 300 Technical Specifications

The GWM Tank 300 adheres to the traditional SUV configuration, using a ladder chassis, a rigid rear axle, and 4x4 traction with a differential lock. Its plug-in hybrid system integrates an engine positioned between the automatic gearbox and the main engine, which uses the transfer case to direct power to all four wheels in electric mode.

The model features locks on the front, rear, and central differentials. The onboard electronics assist through the different terrain selector modes, adjusting parameters to support the driver depending on the surface type. Another assistance feature is tank turn, which works by locking the inner rear wheel to reduce the turning radius.

In terms of off-road performance, the GWM Tank 300 technical sheet shows good indicators, such as a 32° approach angle, a 33° departure angle, a ground clearance of 22.2 cm, and an immersion capacity of 70 cm. For those looking to enhance these capabilities, GWM offers items like BFGoodrich A/T 265/60R18 off-road tires and headlight and taillight protections in its accessory catalog.

The Tank 300 pioneered as the world's first flexible plug-in hybrid car. Its engine is a 2.0 turbo, operating in conjunction with an electric motor, generating a total of 394 hp and 76.4 kgf. The chassis construction gives the SUV good towing capacity, allowing it to pull trailers with brakes up to 2.5 tons or up to 700 kg without brakes.

The vehicle is offered with a five-year warranty without mileage limit for the car, while the hybrid system has an eight-year or 200,000 km coverage.
