A video recorded late at night at the site of the 'Student Justice' rally in Gardanibagh, Patna, is rapidly spreading across social media and X (Twitter). In this video, the anger and pain of student leader Dilip Kumar, who has been advocating for the rights of youth in Bihar for 11 years, have surfaced.
Sitting in the mud, darkness, and under a mosquito net, Dilip Kumar voiced his suffering, criticizing the youth of Bihar, successful candidates, coaching centers, and the entire system.
Kumar decisively responded to those who questioned his honesty and impartiality. He stated that after participating in protests for 11 years, no one can accuse him of receiving donations or supporting any political parties. He emphasized that the movement is funded by personal funds, while participants are subjected to police beatings and imprisonment, and he is willing to allow an audit of his bank account upon government request.
Kumar's distress stemmed from the indifference of successful graduates and silent students. Expressing sarcasm towards candidates who secured jobs through TRE-1, 2, 3—positions such as woodcutter and police officer—as well as through BSSC and BPSC, he noted that they had become so selfish that they did not even care to send students a single 10-rupee biscuit while they were fighting mosquitoes.
Exposing the mafia of private courses and YouTube instructors, Kumar stated that while he participates in protests and takes blows, the BPSC TRE-4 notification is released. As soon as this notification appears, private coaching centers begin selling training packages for huge sums in Patna, Sasaram, Darbhanga, and Maharashtra. According to him, 99.99% of educational institutions are simply exploiting students. Even if students buy courses while turning a blind eye to this, they will not turn up to the protest when classes end after 10 days, only to be called on the 11th day to participate in rallies.
According to media reports, Dilip Kumar graduated from Lalit Narayan Mithila University (LNMU) in Darbhanga, Marwari College, in 2006. He is originally from the Darbhanga district. For the past 11 years, he has led continuous protests in support of transparency and the fight against leakage of examination materials concerning BPSC (due to falsification/normalization of the 70th exam), BSSC, TRE teacher recruitment, as well as woodcutter and police recruitment under the aegis of the All India Student Union of Bihar. Due to demonstrations in Gardanibagh and other areas of Patna in defense of student rights, cases have been filed against him for obstructing police work, resulting in his detention in Beur jail.
