Nthathu Zungu has become a popular content creator online thanks to videos shot using a microphone filter from Radio Station 702, which she found by chance. These videos are gaining views every day.
Zungu shared a video on social media showing the discovery of the microphone filter but declined to reveal where it was found, also stating her intention to keep it. She addressed the person who lost the item, saying: 'I am so sorry. I am so sorry to whoever lost this. It is such a fun thing to own. But I don't know what it's called: a microphone muffler, a noise suppressor for the microphone from 702. This is the coolest thing in the world. I just wonder who lost it? I want to assure you that I support 702.'
In the clip, Zungu also noted: 'It definitely reached the right person. I would like to do news, for example, host the news, but I feel I have a new calling.'
The video garnered over 97,000 views, and her other videos shot with the 702 microphone have accumulated hundreds of thousands of views. Discussing this on 702 with Clement Manyatella, Zungu, who is referred to as 702's unofficial reporter on TikTok or social media, challenged the station to find out where she found the microphone filter.
Zungu admitted that she was initially warned not to use the item because it was broadcasting company equipment. However, she explained that despite the warning, she decided to use it because it looked very realistic and could be a souvenir. Moreover, it fit perfectly with her tripod, and she began creatively using it as a content creator.
She recounted that it all started around seven in the evening when she was spending time with her family, and her mother suggested publishing the video, which prompted her to continue filming.
Since publishing the first video, Zungu, as a content creator, has filmed herself interviewing a chicken to find out why it crossed the road, a woman to locate an alcohol house, and even a lone cow. Social media users highly praised her impressive interviewing skills, charisma, and beauty, and many are urging 702 to officially collaborate with her.
