A viral video showing a group of men dancing to loud music inside a cave in Dehradun has drawn sharp criticism online. Users condemned the behavior, describing it as a lack of civic consciousness in a popular tourist spot.
The clip, posted on X by the account @himalayanhindu, is presumably filmed in Ghuchhu Pani, the capital of Uttarakhand state. The recording shows men singing and dancing while moving through a section of the cave filled with knee-deep water. One participant is carrying a large speaker playing loud music.
The video also shows the group dancing to a Haryanvi song titled 'Lofar They Haryana Ke'. The material has garnered over 404,000 views.
This reel provoked a wave of criticism among users, many of whom argued that visitors should show more consideration for other people and the natural environment in recreational areas. One commenter stated: 'There is no logic in blaming any government; idiots are everywhere in our country. We need to deal with them with an iron fist right there on the spot.'
Another user noted that such behavior is 'nothing but a mental illness of superiority complex.' Another commenter expressed indignation, saying: 'It is terrible to see these specimens. They cannot enjoy the place, nor will they allow others to enjoy it. One must listen to nature, not blast one's meaningless music everywhere.'
One user went further, accusing those behaving this way of broader misconduct. He wrote that they 'even tease women, and if someone resists, they attack like a pack of wild dogs. And when they are beaten, they start crying about how people discriminate against them.'
Some users also criticized not only the participants in the video but also those who supported their behavior in the comments. One of them wrote: 'Zero civic consciousness in the people in this video and the people defending it in the comments.'
As of now, there have been no reports of police action, and local authorities have made no official statements regarding this video.
