A delegation led by Zhu Huanli, Vice President of the Yellow River Water Management University, visited Uzbekistan from August 4 to 7, 2026, to strengthen educational cooperation, according to regional media.
During the visit, representatives of the Chinese university held meetings with higher education institutions in Uzbekistan and Chinese companies operating in the country. Issues regarding the training of international specialists and the joint establishment of the 'Da He' Workshop were discussed.
The delegation included staff from the university's external relations department, as well as representatives from the departments of hydraulic and electrical mechanical engineering.
Joint Specialist Training in Tashkent
At Tashkent State Agrarian University, Zhu met with Vice President Abdulaziz Abdusakov. They discussed the joint training of specialists for the water resource management and agriculture sectors in Central Asia. Furthermore, the parties reviewed student and faculty exchange programs, as well as scientific research. As a result of the negotiations between the two institutions, an agreement was reached and a memorandum of understanding was signed.
The delegation also held talks at KIMYO International University in Tashkent. The main focus was on training personnel for the renewable energy sector and the digital transformation of education. Zhu proposed using the 'Da He' Workshop as a platform for innovative research in renewable energy and interdisciplinary learning. The parties agreed on the project parameters, signed a cooperation agreement, held an opening ceremony for the workshop, and presented joint results from courses on artificial intelligence and new media.
In addition, the delegation visited the 'Samarkand' cement facility of the China Energy Engineering Corporation (Gezhouba). There, Deputy General Manager He Peng held discussions with university representatives. The parties preliminarily agreed to develop specialized training programs for company employees and establish a base for internships and overseas employment.
The Yellow River Water Management University intends to use the results of this visit to further expand international educational cooperation in Central Asia and support the 'Belt and Road' initiative.
