Shares of Shiprocket continued to rise after its listing on Thursday, August 20, 2026. This growth occurred one day after the closing of Shiprocket's IPO, which proved to be one of the most sought-after this year.
At 9:52 AM, the stock traded on BSE at a price of 152.66 rupees, which was 6.38% higher than the previous close of 143.50 rupees, reaching a high of 156.81 rupees.
This positive trend followed Goldman Sachs acquiring over 4 million shares of the e-commerce service provider based in Gurugram as part of a major deal on the debut day.
Shiprocket was founded in 2011 under the name Bigfoot Retail Solutions and launched a unified window delivery platform for online sellers collaborating with courier partners in 2017. Since then, the company has expanded its operations into a full-fledged commercial business covering fulfillment, order processing, payments, cross-border delivery, and omnichannel sales.
The largest shareholder, Bertelsmann India Investments, holding 21.32%, did not sell its stakes during the offering, as did Eternal and PayPal.
The issuance, amounting to 1617.48 crore rupees, which included a fresh issue of 885.50 crore rupees and a sale offer of 731.98 crore rupees, took place from August 12 to August 14, 2026, in a price range of 92 to 97 rupees. The offering was subscribed 99.38 times, with qualified institutional buyers bidding 122.80 times, non-institutional investors 88.99 times, and retail investors 46.42 times.
The shares were listed on August 19, 2026, at a price of 131 rupees on NSE, representing a premium of 35.05%, and at 129.50 rupees on BSE.
Exchange data showed that Goldman Sachs India Equity Portfolio purchased 4,024,040 shares at an average weighted price of 131 rupees, matching the NSE listing level. Block trade data reflects only a part of the trading and does not indicate final ownership. By 9:52 AM on BSE, 64.11 lakh shares had been transferred, resulting in a turnover of 98.17 crore rupees and a market capitalization of 11,107.20 crore rupees.
The figures behind this demand indicate ongoing business scaling. Operating revenue grew by 24% to 2,024.14 crore rupees in fiscal year 26 compared to 1,632 crore rupees; net loss slightly increased to 79.25 crore rupees from 74.45 crore rupees, and EBITDA loss decreased to 16.56 crore rupees. In fiscal year 26, the company served 214,769 active sellers.
Shiprocket has no identified promoter and is managed by co-founder Sahil Goel as Managing Director and CEO.
A block trade is any transaction where one buyer or seller moves more than 0.5% of the listed company's equity capital in one session. Exchanges require such trades to be reported after market close, so they appear the next morning.
For a recently listed stock, disclosure is important as the shareholder register is still being formed. Allocated anchors are locked, so the market is watching who is buying at the trading price rather than the offering price.
Buying at 131 rupees indicates a willingness to pay the listing price rather than waiting for a decline, although one session is not an indicator of long-term prospects.
Attention is now focused on how the new funds will be utilized. Shiprocket has allocated 294 crore rupees to marketing, 211 crore rupees to technology, and up to 210 crore rupees for debt repayment. A new business line, where losses are recorded, will be the first area investors monitor, alongside the September quarter figures, which will be the company's first in public status.
