Ford launches single-cab Ranger version in Brazil with starting price of R$ 256,600

Ford has expanded its pickup truck lineup in Brazil with the introduction of new configurations focused on the work segment. The highlight is the XL single-cab version, which will be sold with a starting price of R$ 256,600. This launch, which was already scheduled for the second half of the year, occurs at a favorable time for the pickup, as it surpassed the Toyota Hilux in sales in July, marking the first time in 48 months that the Japanese model lost the top spot in sales.

With the aim of capitalizing on this good moment, Ford increased the supply of the Ranger. The single-cab derivative essentially shares the same structure as the chassis version and will be equipped with the Panther 2.0 turbodiesel engine, which generates 170 hp and 41.3 kgfm of torque. It can be offered with a manual or six-speed automatic transmission, in addition to having 4x4 traction.

Among the notable features of the single-cab version is a load capacity of up to 1,223 kg when used in the manual configuration, and the bed volume reaches 1.6 thousand liters.

In terms of equipment, the single-cab Ranger includes seven airbags, cruise control, SYNC 4 multimedia system with a 10-inch screen, support for wireless Android Auto and Apple CarPlay, an 8-inch digital panel, electronic stability control, hill start assist, and automatic descent control. Additionally, it comes with 16-inch steel wheels, off-road tires, a lockable rear differential, and electric steering.

Connectivity is also a strong point, as the Ranger XL provides functionalities of the Ford application and the fleet monitoring portal, providing data on vehicle performance, consumption, maintenance, and operation.

However, this simplified version omits all non-mandatory items or those that could affect production scale. Items such as fog lights, running boards, rearview camera, parking sensors, bed protectors, and tonneau cover are not included but can be added later as accessories. Even the electric adjustment of the mirrors is omitted; the adjustment must be done 'digitally' with fingers. Furthermore, the internal lever is not present.

Consulting the price list, the Ranger XL Chassis Cab starts at R$ 248,600 in the manual version and reaches R$ 258,600 with automatic transmission. The Single Cab version costs R$ 256,600 in the manual option and R$ 266,600 in the automatic. The Double Cab version presents price ranges between R$ 272,600 and R$ 282,600, depending on the type of transmission.
