Uzbekistan and Japan Discuss Cooperation in Geology and Mining Industry

Representatives of the Ministry of Mining and Geology of Uzbekistan held a meeting with officials from Japanese corporations ITOCHU and JOGMEC, as well as with the Ministry of Economy, Trade and Industry of Japan (METI).

Discussion of Partnership

According to data from the Ministry of Mining and Geology of Uzbekistan, the negotiations were led by the First Deputy Minister of Mining and Geology, Feruza Khamidova. During the discussions, the Japanese delegation emphasized the importance of strategic partnership between Uzbekistan and Japan and expressed a desire to deepen bilateral interaction in the fields of geology, as well as mining and metallurgical industries.

Uzbek officials confirmed their readiness to involve ITOCHU, JOGMEC, and other Japanese companies in the development of promising deposits across the country. The parties also discussed attracting Japanese investment into mining projects, while the Uzbek ministry stated its readiness to support potential Japanese investors.

After the meeting concluded, both sides reaffirmed their commitment to expanding practical cooperation in the geological and mining sectors.
