Complete analysis of the WAP Robot W400 vacuum cleaner robot: is it worth it?

Vacuum robots have established themselves as valuable assistants for those who want to keep their home organized with minimal effort, as they are capable of performing various tasks such as sweeping, vacuuming, and mopping.

However, not all models are suitable for every user profile. To assist those looking for a device with more sophisticated features but without a high cost, Olhar Digital has prepared a detailed review of the WAP Robot W400.

The Wap Robot W400 has the typical circular shape of vacuum robots and stands out due to its low height of only 7.8 cm, which allows it to easily access underneath sofas, beds, and cabinets during cleaning.

Its external structure is made of resistant plastic, designed to withstand contact with baseboards and table legs. On the bottom, rubberized wheels help the robot overcome small daily obstacles, such as thresholds up to 1.5 cm and thin carpets.

The debris container has a capacity of 300 ml. The set includes the charging base, a remote control with batteries, additional brushes, a support with a microfiber cloth, and a small blade intended for removing hair tangled in the mechanism.

This model offers a triple function: sweeping, vacuuming, and mopping. With a suction power of 1400 Pa, it collects dust, crumbs, and pet hair on wooden, cold, and low-pile floors without difficulty.

To ensure safety, the device is equipped with infrared sensors that prevent collisions with furniture, as well as under sensors that prevent falls on steps and stairs.

During operation, the robot alternates between straight-line trajectories, circular movements, and wall cleaning. It is important to note that it does not have intelligent mapping, requiring occasional supervision to prevent it from getting stuck on an object.

The battery autonomy allows for up to 100 minutes of cleaning, and when the charge runs out, the device automatically returns to its charging base.

The robot has Wi-Fi connectivity and can be integrated with a smartphone application, allowing the user to schedule cleaning times or activate it remotely. Furthermore, it comes with a remote control to operate functions without depending on an internet connection, and it can also be controlled by voice assistants like Alexa.

Considering its good suction capacity and ease of operation, whether via the app or remote control, this robot is suitable for those seeking a more advanced device than basic models. Its ability to return to its base automatically, avoid obstacles, and have long duration makes it ideal for simplifying household chores.

However, the device has some limitations: the lack of laser mapping may cause it to get entangled in objects, and its random path makes coverage in larger homes slower, potentially repeating the same section several times.

Although the bottom cloth helps remove fine dust, it is not effective for scrubbing fixed stains on the floor. Additionally, the brushes require frequent maintenance to remove hair caught on the axles.
